Our Mission & Vision
At Reader's Academy, our mission is to revolutionize the approach to literacy and critical thinking education for students with learning differences by providing research-backed methods and individualized teaching that empowers students to reach their full potential.
We envision a return to the high standards of literacy that once formed the foundation of education. By nurturing careful reading, deep understanding, and disciplined thinking, we seek to develop students who are prepared not only to succeed academically, but to think clearly, question thoughtfully, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

Specializations - We Know How To Help
Written below are the most common learning setbacks for teaching literacy and critical thinking skills to students who are struggling or to those who need more intellectual challenge.
Dyslexia
Dyslexia support has been misunderstood and ignored in schools for far too long. Reader's Academy is a leader in the field providing the most up to date scientific methods for teaching these unique learners so that they can confidently achieve academic and personal success.
ADHD/ADD
For these students, effective learning requires structure. Our sessions follow a clear framework while remaining flexible to the student’s pace and learning style. Each session builds on the last, ensuring steady advancement rather than stalled repetition.
Difficulty With Emotional Regulation / Low Confidence
Confidence is central to literacy development. We create a calm, focused, supportive learning environment where students are no longer in "survival mode" —they feel respected, capable, and understood. As skills improve, students begin to trust themselves, and lifelong learning becomes something they engage with, not resist.
Gifted Students
When classroom work becomes too simple for these students, they need more challenge to help them reach their full potential. This is where specialized projects and studies allow them to grow at the pace that suites them and not depend on their school that often cannot provide further support apart from the current curriculum.
A Protected Space.
A Purposeful Environment.
Readers Academy sessions are held iin a private room within the quiet, established setting of a public library — a community institution defined by trust, civility, and a shared commitment to learning. Within that space, your child is further protected by the standards we have set for ourselves.
Every adult permitted to engage with our students has been personally selected for their experience working with children who are not always easy to categorize — children who think differently, learn differently, and often feel everything more deeply than their peers. Our educators and support staff understand that a child who has struggled in conventional settings is not a child with a deficit. They are a child whose mind has not yet been met on its own terms.
We keep our groups deliberately small. We keep our doors open and our practices transparent. And we are uncompromising in who we allow near our students. No volunteer, facilitator, or visiting instructor enters our learning environment without a thorough vetting process and a demonstrated history of working with children of varied developmental profiles, learning styles, and emotional needs.
Your child will not be handed off to a stranger. Every adult in that room has been chosen for both their competence and their character — people who lead with patience, who earn trust before they expect it, and who understand that a child who has been misunderstood once will not easily be misunderstood again on our watch.
This is not just a program. It is a protected space built for children who deserve to finally feel safe enough to grow.
